Estimate prep: what to have ready

Tell us what you’re planning and where. You’ll get a short list of what to have on hand for the free on-site estimate, the approvals that may come first, and the page to read before we meet. No prices; those come from the estimate.

Built from the City of Galveston fence permit application (Rev. 03/2023), the City’s Land Development Regulations §2.501, the Tiki Island and Bayou Vista fence ordinances, the 2021 ISPSC as adopted by the City’s pool permit, and Texas811’s homeowner guidance. A planning aid, not a permit decision; each city’s permit office makes the final call.

What happens at the free estimate

The estimate happens at your property. We walk the fence line with you and measure each run. We note the grade and drainage, easements, trees and anything the fence has to clear, and mark where the gates go. Then we confirm which city’s rules apply, whether an HOA, historic or coastal step comes first, and go through the materials that fit the spot.

What changes the price and the schedule: the length and height of the run; the material and style; the number and width of gates; how the posts are set; site access, soil and slope; removal of an old fence; and any survey, permit or HOA approval that has to come first. That’s why the number comes in writing after the visit, not over the phone. Financing is available through the providers listed on our financing page, subject to credit approval.
